This traditional center entrance cape style house had a very small kitchen, not nearly big enough for this family of 4 who likes to entertain. By removing a wall between the dining room and kitchen we were able to create a more expansive kitchen including a large peninsula with seating for 5. The former dining room was reconfigured into a home office with French Doors and the dining area was relocated to the great room. The redesign also included adding a larger window, changing out the slider for a single glass door to allow or more cabinetry and opening up the entrance to the finished basement. The clients chose dark grey stained maple cabinets with Valley White Granite Countertops, and taupe tile backsplash accented by a glass and stone mosaic listello. The walls are painted in a soft grey taupe, contrasted by crisp white trim moldings. The Elkay industrial style pull-down faucet and black Blanco Sink, and glass pendant lights add drama.
